BREAKTHROUGH

Food systems that respect and replenish nature

How we produce, distribute, and consume food can contribute substantially towards low-carbon food systems while replenishing biodiversity.

Approaches including farmland restoration, silvopasture (the interaction between livestock and trees), regenerative agriculture and grazing, cover cropping, intercropping can massively enhance farmland's capacity to sequester carbon while protecting and enhancing biodiversity. These of food production can also help alleviate global poverty.
