THE WORLD WE HAVE

Nature is facing an existential crisis. Human activity, like the over-extraction of natural resources and changing global climate, has driven our ecosystems near collapse. Right now, one-third of the world’s land has been cleared for crop or livestock production.
And one million animal and plant species are threatened with extinction, while ocean acidification is impacting many marine species.
Pollution is a problem too. Industrial waste, for example, has created 250,000 square kilometres of ocean dead zones. Business and political decisions are made without considering environmental impact.
Without rapid change, biodiversity will be radically damaged within our lifetimes.
